I am so frustrated right now I ordered eggs on eBay and I bid on them I won the auction but they didn't even have the eggs ready. The auction ended and they said that they would have them here by the 25th. But now they are saying that their hens aren't all laying and that there are two more orders ahead of me. If I had known they were backed up on orders I wouldn't have ordered the eggs. I asked if they were ready and they said they were. I'm so mad. Now I have no time and I need them so I can set them in the classroom!

Can you cancel your order and get your money back? Seems like you should be able to if your "product" isn't there.

If you just need fertile eggs, I have some you can buy for cheap. I'm kind of far from you though (South of Seattle). I'm sure there are other BYC members close to you that must have some eggs to sell. My babies will be cute though...Cream legbars and easter eggers. :)

I'm sad it was for bantam cochins and i'd better get some eggs on time or my money back! They are supposed to be here by this Saturday but I got another message saying that If there is enough eggs that they might overnight them to me BUT I might get some next week if not... that's NOT ok! I'm trying to mellow out before I message them back. I'm not very nice with my words when people mess up my plans...

At this point I just need eggs now! I've been collecting from my hens and i'm at 5 but at this rate I might have 20-25 eggs and I was hoping to fill the incubator (42 eggs).

Ochochicas those would be cute babies! How much would you need for eggs? I'm getting desperate and if I have to take a drive to find good hatching eggs i'm all for it! <---- DH thinks I'm nuts... but he just went to seattle and bought a motorcycle. SO I figure since i'm not spending as much money as he did so it's ok, right?

If there is anyone close with chicken hatching eggs though that would be good too! I live in Aberdeen and I'm setting on the 25th with the kids. They are ages 3-5 so I was trying to order bantam cochin so they could see the size difference and my daughter wanted to show them. I haven't told her about the ebay order...

The eggs would be $.50 each. So a dozen is $6.00. The eggs would all be tinted or brown, but my rooster is a cream legbar so the chicks that hatch should all be easter eggers. I have an ameraucana hen, but she just stopped laying last week. :( If you think you might want the eggs, let me know and I'll start saving them for you. I might be going to Tacoma next weekend if that helps at all. Are you putting the eggs in on Saturday (the 25th)?

My DH also bought a motorcycle which we had to pick up in Arlington. After a few years of paying for insurance and repairs/maintenance, he decided it wasn't as fun as the thought it would be and just sold it this summer. I'm sure he'll be aching for a new toy before too long (my dad is giving us a Quad, so maybe that will satisfy his mid-life crisis).

I am setting them Tuesday October 28th that's why I wanted the mail order ones by Saturday the 25th so they could rest before I set. When will you be in Tacoma? I am so there! DH has 4 motorcycles now but he sold a car to make room for his motorcycles. Plus we have 5 quads... When I said we didn't have room for all this stuff he built another small shop! So if he tries to ever complain about the amount of my birds I have leverage!

I would love to fill the incubator with eggs that are different from mine so if there is anyone else in the Tacoma area that might have some hatching eggs that I can buy... Maybe we can have an egg buying lunch party in Tacoma this weekend?

I will be in Auburn on Sunday morning (that is the plan anyway) and then head to Tacoma after that. How many eggs do you think you want? I can get more from my rhodebar, RIR, and Amberlink. I might also be able to get a legbar or Olive egger in there. Do you sill want them if I don't know for sure they are fertile? I know the others are fertile for sure. :) If you find some eggs closer to home let me know. I can meet you someplace close to the freeway otherwise. If your eggs don't show up by Saturday I hope you get your money refunded!

Up to 2 dozen would help a lot! I can test out the ones you are unsure about and let you know what happens! I'll put those in the back up incubator.

My setup is I'm hoping to have the one at the school full and all the eggs numbered. Each kid is going to pick an egg number and if at any time their egg quits I can ask them to pick a different number for their journal. I know not all of the eggs will make it all of the way and I explained that to the kiddos already. If I have more than 42 I will put them in my second incubator as backups to fill up the first one as eggs quit.

The kids might be able to keep the chicks around for a week in their class. We are just waiting on the school board to approve it!

This is the coloring book I made for the kids. I made them in 8"x11" sheets so the kids can have room to color the pages.

Awesome coloring book! The kids are going to love it. I wish we would have had chicks when I was in school.

I do have some of my questionable eggs in my incubator. They are on day 4, so too early to candle them yet. The rooster is servicing the hens, but I have not checked all the eggs for fertility. My incubator was running at 102 for the first 24 hours so I'm afraid I might have cooked my eggs right from the start, but we'll see in a week if anything is happening. New incubator is warmer on one side than the other. :( Maybe beginner's luck will be on my side this time.
