@evemfoster -- Hi to you too. I got confuse and wrote the following to Mike10, but in going back I see it is you that mentioned NE Washington. Ooops!

You'll find that a majority of people that post here live on the wet side of the cascades. I know a couple folks from your area, @flyingmonkeypoop and @pips&peeps both come to mind. Really nice people and both are near Spokane, sort of. There are a few in the Okanogan area, too.

So Tukwila and Longacres are south of Seattle. I'm a transplant and still have family near Colville. So stick around and don't be afraid to ask question or give comments. We're quite social.

Hey there evening. My chickens that are 3 months old which are 4 I need to post pictures and ask what kind of breed they are because I'm not too sure. Anyways today they were coming out for a little bit eating scratch around then go inside. Then come out later and go in. That's what they do all day. But my other 3 birchen marans. They love being out all day long. It is pretty cold at night/mornings. How cold can 3 month old chickens be in without a heat lamp. I have one for my 4 that are younger but still turn it off at night. Have jot left it on yet, maybe when it reaches 30s. But as for my birchen marans one of them is laying so I need to put a light for her so she can keep it going. Her sister should be laying in a few weeks.

my older chicks are 10 weeks old they are java/salmofaverollie/barred rock cross, lol i have absolutely no idea what gender or anything my chicks are at this point fingers crossed pullets, they are in the henhouse just a reg light on inside for last three days and first time outside in the real world today :) then have 3 three week old americana/wyndotte(maybe polish) crosses they are getting spoiled with nice cozy spot by the pellet stove lol

Oh my goodness @flyingmonkeypoop lives in Deer Park. I've seen him while I've been shopping. Deer Park is the closest town so i shop there but i am about 12 miles north east of town.

Next time you see me, say hello. I always love meeting new chicken people in the area. We also started a local poultry club and have meetings on the second Saturday of every month at the library in Deer Park (had one last night). Since all the good shows are on the coast or in Montana, we started a club to promote poultry.

That is a great idea! We should have a poultry club around here. How did you get the word out?

There seems to be a lot of new people posting here in the Washington area. Hello to all the new guys and gals : )

On another note, I was just talking to my wife last night about our girls...

So, this week our teenage pullets are 23 weeks old... They all have red combs, but they do not squat yet.... We have done tons of work transforming our property to be chicken friendly for years to come... We are just anxious for eggs. If they even come this fall/winter.

People have told us they might not lay till this coming spring. Which would just suck. : ( Getting two eggs a day from our 1yr olds is getting old lol. We want more eggs! My wife and I are sick of buying eggs from costco : P
