Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I agree, that did come accross as being harsh but I'm assuming it wasn't meant that way. I live 8 miles outside of Sumas. It is on the Canadian border. It's NE of Bellingham.

There are plenty of things that get taken the wrong way when typing. I was just pointing out how it looked from my perspective. :) I swear I probably wouldn't be able to find my backyard without google maps! Lol I've forgot punctuation typing from my phone and it changed the entire paragraph I wrote! I had to edit it later for it to make sense. Love the Internet! Lol

I wish I could put tracking devices on my chickens. I've got one that didn't coop up. :( She's usually one of the first in. It's frosty out so I'm not sure she'd survive the night. I keep checking but I haven't seen her. DH and I looked till around 10pm for her. No feathers anywhere or blood that we could see. Still hoping she shows up tomorrow.

That comes across kinda harsh...

But I'll answer your question Mike10.
It's about 30 miles or so from Bellingham... Pretty far north looks to be close to Canada. And yes I used google! Lol I live in the aberdeen/westport area. That's about 50ish miles west of Olympia by the ocean.

Thank you it did seem a bit harsh that's why didn't comment back but that's alright. Thank you again, and nice I was in Westport this past summer. Really small town but nice.

So what's out there.? A lot of farms.? I have not traveled up north that far. Been thinking about going to canada to check it out. But thanks for responding where it's by.

I don't have most of that. Jars of hot water I can do... I just wrapped in a blanket and moved it to a warmer room as soon as I realized I couldn't turn on the lights.

Lady Gaga came booking it out of the trees this morning for treats! Little turd! I was out there half the night looking for her. I think she learned her lesson though she came right to me and usually she's a bit more skittish than that lol

Aarrrgh. Wind just knocked out my power. I am, of course, incubating s dozen ancona eggs right now. Crap. What do I do about that???
Extra insulating covering with the hot water bottles, having some of those hand warmers can offer short term help. Ancona's ? I have a few and they have been incredible egg layers and smart free rangers…..very thrifty.

I'm the same way I rather have direct communication then off researching especially when in a convo
Make sure she is in a warm place with the weather becoming cooler. I have a hen wrapped in a blanket near the bathroom heater right now. see if she is willing to eat & drink, if not dip her beak in your diluted vit/elec mix... i will use a dropper to drool some at the edge of their beak, but got to be careful to let them swallow so they don't get into their lungs. Hopefully they will start to eat more on their own. Best of luck….
I am not familiar with cocoons?
is it similar to other birds feed on one perticular side (I forget right now still half asleep) so it prevents liquids going into the lungs?
