Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

This week I'm gonna work on clearing out all my gluten-infused foods. It's too expensive to just throw them out so maybe I can share with the chickies! The celiac disease was, yet again, confirmed so it's back to seriously planning all my meals and going out to eat will again be a PITA! I'm just glad that I am at home full-time now and should have an easier time sticking to it! This time the entire family is going to eat what I eat because it's too tempting to have it in the house and it's very annoying to fix more than 1 meal!

For those gluten free, here's some Thanksgiving Recipes!!

Very cool!!!!!

My thermometer says it's 55 degrees out in the brooder. My math says I need it to be 65. Maybe if I add a low perch they will be closer to the heat bulb....

I should not have had that cup of coffee this afternoon. I'm still awake.

Guess I might as well post 4-week-old pics...

Cocoa... Latte... Rocha... Blackie (check out the feathers on Cocoa's feet)

Cocoa... Latte... Blackie... Rocha

I don't know... Latte's head is getting pretty black. Maybe s/he was crossed with a crow.

Our little Cub Scout Pack walked in the local Veteran's Day Parade yesterday. It used to be known as the largest Veteran's Day Parade west of the Mississippi, but now they're saying it has grown to be the largest Veteran's Day parade in the US. People started assembling at 8:30 a.m. (the boys in our Pack got there at 10:30 a.m.), The actual parade started at 11:00, but we didn't walk until after 1:30, and there were a bunch of groups behind us. The parade is that long!

I didn't think of that. If so, I could just use a bowl I already have for the coop. I will try it out on the next projected freezing night and see what happens! Thanks CL.
I'm not caught up, so forgive me if this has been addressed. I use a bowl in the coop, and it will freeze.
I do have heat in the coop, but it is just minimally on during very cold weather, and even when it is on I will get a skim of ice across the top of the water.
Jess is close to me. I'm not sure if she's up on a hill, but that combined with being away from the Sound; I can certainly believe she may see frozen Kent.
