Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Yippee Ya Hoo! My HRIR just laid her very first egg! It was SO hilarious. She went in and out of the nest box at least 30 times today, even shoving one of the other girls out once. (chicken cams are so much fun sometimes) I checked the nest box a little while ago but nothing from her, just one from the EE. So I puttered around for a couple minutes and glanced down at the ground in the pen. And what did I see -- a lovely brown egg in the sand at the foot of the ramp still damp!!! Poor girl, after all that time in & out of the box, it wasn't even inside the coop.

Brown Egg 1.8 ounces (51 grams). Not bad for a first try, but oh so funny. Congratulations Maggie, 8 months and 1 week old.

Anyone on the eastside of Seattle looking to rehome a full size rooster? My beautiful Ameraucana rooster was killed yesterday protecting the girls.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your roo. I have two 16 week old English Orpington cockerels that I have to find new homes for. They are big beautiful boys, but neither has started crowing yet. One is a black and white Mottled/Spangled Orpington. The other is a tri-colored speckled boy, black and white on chest and rump with red and black wings. They are already bigger than my full grown Buff Orpington and Barred Rock hens. Please pm me if you are interested. I can deliver to the eastside.

Here are my two cockerels who need new homes. They are 16 weeks old, vaccinated against Mareks, happy and healthy, and not yet crowing or pursuing the girls. They have to go before they start crowing -- I'm in Seattle.

Oh thank you so much for the offer. I was kind of hoping for an older rooster to keep the girls in line since many of the girls are around 2 or older... Worried these girls might pick on him too much? But I may take you up on your offer if I can't find a mature rooster... I'll let you know. Thank you!

Beautiful birds.

If you don't find a home for them, I know a guy in Seattle that will take them and process them. Very nice fellow and they will not be abused or used for fighting. He prefers to get them before 20 weeks. If you want his contact info, let me know.

If you were closer I'd give you a wheaten boy. I'm slowly eating them
Are they Wheaten Ameraucanas? I might be interested in getting one from you in the future. He'd have lots of girlfriends. My current rooster is getting a little too protective of his ladies, if you know what I mean, and I'm not sure how much longer he'll be able to stay.

Wheaten / blue wheaten ameraucana. I decided I'm not keeping any of the boys from this batch

Anyone know of a Mobile Butcher around the Marysville area or works in the Marysville area- that deals with chickens and turkeys - we want to start having our own poultry processed - I know I've seen some just don't remember names
