Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Anyone on the eastside of Seattle looking to rehome a full size rooster? My beautiful Ameraucana rooster was killed yesterday protecting the girls.

There is someone on here nbd3um1 that's trying to rehome a roo. You might try to pm them.

COOL !!! how do you move it around ? My SO made mine with a hitch he welded out of an old bed frame, so it hooks up on our lawn tractor, AND he made handles on the front so 2 people can pivot it or lift it up on the hitch. I love your heighth & 'clearness' for day light !

Soley by man power at the moment and only my husband's as it's too heavy for me. Eventually we would like a tractor and drag it with that. Once he puts larger wheels on it and they actually stay in the down position I may be able to move it. We may add more roofing material on the sides to keep it drier inside during the rain, but this isn't meant to be a winter tractor at this point. We may use it as a grow out in the spring.

Yippee Ya Hoo! My HRIR just laid her very first egg! It was SO hilarious. She went in and out of the nest box at least 30 times today, even shoving one of the other girls out once. (chicken cams are so much fun sometimes) I checked the nest box a little while ago but nothing from her, just one from the EE. So I puttered around for a couple minutes and glanced down at the ground in the pen. And what did I see -- a lovely brown egg in the sand at the foot of the ramp still damp!!! Poor girl, after all that time in & out of the box, it wasn't even inside the coop.
Brown Egg 1.8 ounces (51 grams). Not bad for a first try, but oh so funny. Congratulations Maggie, 8 months and 1 week old.
