Well thank goodness the wind and rain finally quit!
Went to check on my girls after work today and Lola (one of my ee's) had blood all over her back end. Being a chicken newbie, I ran back inside in a panic to consult the reams of information on BYC
. Lola is a pretty flighty girl, but she actually did really well having a nice warm bath tonight. After washing her up, found no signs of anything creepy - my best guess was a prolapsed vent (there was insides on the outside). Cleaned it, put things back where they belong and blow-dried her. Surprised me that she seemed to enjoy the hair dryer lol. We put her in the brooder with a heat light by herself for tonight. Her water has electrolytes and I'll check back on her in a little while. I know it was something that happened today while I was at work, because she was fine this morning. Does anyone have any suggestions for anything else I can do for her? I'll be watching her pretty closely - but I'm totally unexperienced with this stuff! She doesn't seem to be in any pain and is walking around fine, but I'm really worried about her - she's a sweet little girl (a little over 6 months old) and has been laying for about a month.
