Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I love the gamma lids. And as I said, Mom can actually use them with her hands. I'd bought some of them for her 5 gallon buckets. I have a bunch on my own 5 gallon and 2.5 gallon buckets I use for food storage.

So far locally I've found that Winco has the best prices on the lids. Well at least the Winco here in the Graham/South Hill area carries them. They also carry the little oxygen absorbers for long term storage. I have a jar of those I'm still going through. Keep the little things good by putting them in a canning jar and sucking the air out with my foodsaver.

I got the big kibble bins in the picture because of how they stack and the opening angles. Space is a premium for me and they work very well sitting on top of the catbox.

Hey!
Did I hear right that you guys are moving ????
First Katey, now you ????

:(

No. Not moving. Hubby has a job issue and he's looking for another. But we are staying here. House payment is cheap enough because we were careful how much we spent. When his job goes away we will be fine as long as we are near base for the medical.

how cute

The Aussie cross is my chicken police. He breaks up their fights. The German Shepherd is my rat hunter (a job she takes very seriously). Both are safe to leave in with the chickens unsupervised if I have to lock them up. Well they will eat the chicken food first, then go for the poop. But both are protective of the birds. I've had silkies actually go up and take food out of the German Shepherds mouth. The Aussie cross doesn't trust them and always takes his treats elsewhere to eat.

Here are my two Aussie mixes eating the chickens' scratch off the ground. They aren't interested in bothering hens but will eat an entire egg if it's found lying on the ground.

she is so cute...almost looks scared !
She was given the "wait" command to try to get her to pose for the photo so she was waiting for her release, she does look a bit scared! Mostly she is scared of squishing the little babies when they burrow under her and will crawl or roll away from them, which is why I had to use the 'wait' command.

Here she is foraging with her favorite young cockerel before he found a new home.

Interesting about your Aussie being the police. My girl is the same way but with her humans. If she thinks there is a fight (ie: dancing, enthusiastic hug, etc) she will come and try to get in between the parties involved and sometimes bark. The only thing we can think of is that is her way of breaking up the perceived 'fight.'
