Are you trying for more colorful eggs? My plan didn't work too well. I got three Easter Eggars, one lays a blue greenish egg, one weighs a cream colored it, and one ways a brown egg. I was sort of hoping for three green or blue eggs but oh well. They are laying just about daily though so that's good. And the cream and green eggs do add a little color. I can't add any more chickens so I'm going to just live with what I have now.

I will wait till I see eggs from my two sex-links and my easter egger
as my barreds all lay brown eggs large to jumbo

Is anybody girls a bit off on laying in the heat we are having
as most of you know I have geodesic coop and barn
I placed a fan yesterday today we placed two vents one on each side planning on at least two more
but the girls are at 3 of 5 today usual is 5 a day with my girls.

I don't know anything about sex link breeds. I thought about getting a white egg layer but thought the Easter egg or squid you cover it, oops. It's OK, I'm getting various shades of brown.

My husband picked up the dozen hatching eggs for me because I am not driving. He knows nothing about hatching and apparently neither does the seller. Two look like double yolks so they are unlikely to hatch, especially considering how deformed this one is.

This one is also deformed and covered with egg yolk. All the eggs were so dirty that I hope it is not an indication of the health of the chickens.

I thought she only had two Easter Egger hens and in the listing she said they were blue eggs. In an email she said they were a greenish blue. I am going to have to clean them and start them in the incubator to see if any have a chance before I put them under my hens.

If I had picked them up myself I might have only bought the few that look normal and not the dozen. Some look like small pullet eggs so they would not normally be considered hatching eggs and some are more football shaped. I am disappointed that I trusted this person to sell me hatchable hatching eggs. All the more reason to have my own chickens!

Is it even possible to have so many sizes and shapes of eggs from two hens? I am hoping they are no more than a week old but considering the shape they are in, I doubt this person knows anything about hatching eggs. They were even pointed end up in the carton. I might have to keep looking for some nice Easter Eggers (hatchery Ameraucanas) because right now this looks like a mistake.

I would take them back telling them your concerns ask to see the rooster?

I had nuggets hatch Saturday. Put them under a mama. She had them out in the cool grass this afternoon. I had to corner them to get a picture.

There is an Easter Egger (hatchery Ameraucana) rooster pictured in the listing. She has a barnyard mix of hens so I only wanted the colored eggs. I would usually stay clear of mixed flocks but I figured these would be hatchery quality and then I could hopefully get the next generation closer to their roots. I hope I am not in for any surprises if they hatch.

I had my daughter clean them up (we just use a soft facial egg to take off any dirt and bacteria without scrubbing them) and put them in the incubator so I will see what develops before contacting her. When I sell eggs I make sure they are perfect so it was shocking to see so many that were seriously flawed in one batch. Our hens lay uniform looking eggs most of the time with an occasional oddball, such as a double yolk. I have only had one soft shell egg once in all my years raising chickens and it scared me to see it, although it was also fascinating. The egg farts are usually the most unusual eggs I see as the pullets start laying.

I hope I get a few of these eggs to develop so I can put them under the hens before their chicks hatch. I thought I was done buying hatching eggs a few years ago but I will make sure I am the one who picks up any in the future so I can inspect them prior to purchase and even look over the flock.
