Not definitively. 2 months is about when you can say for certain male or female.

Within the city limit of Battle Ground, no limit on hens but no rooster - waiting until Rose crow before we will have to try to rehome him.

We roasted hot dogs the other night as well as made campfire pies. Had some chickens for dinner. The old girls aren't stupid, they know to check for treats if we are eating. Like the extra bread from us making the pies. A few of them tried to peer into the firepit to see if there was anything to eat there.

Since I just found out that we can't have even 1 rooster within the city limit of Battle Ground ---- I did a little search and found the No-Crow Velcro collar. Look like a simple Velcro around a rooster neck to restrict his wind pipe from explaining.

Anyone is currently using this for their rooster?

So the birds I have that are from a hatchery are they vaccinated ?

did you ask that they be vaccinated ? If not, then no. No feedstores get their chicks vaccinated either, they buy them as cheaply as possible.

Is Marek's one of the things they test for during NPIP testing? Can you still be NPIP if you vaccinate?

No NPIP tests for Marek's Disease, and they do not test for MG either.
What they do is test for PT (pollorum-Typhoid ) & AI (Avian Influenza)

@Chickielady is NPIP and she vaccinates for Mareks.

I also vaccinate for ILT, which has reared its ugly head around Western WA several times in the last 2 years...

Pips&peeps vaccinates & is NPIP, so is quite a few others.
