She's still alive this morning. That's something.
Need to keep her in a darkened room so she doesn't lay again until it's mostly healed.
She died after I posted this morning.

OK, don't have a picture but breakfast is 'seasonal' from the garden. Sauteed broccoli, leeks, jalapeno (the last of them), brussel sprouts and a few real bacon bits and scrambled it up with farm fresh eggs topped with 3 yr aged vintage white extra sharp cheddar. Yum. I skipped the Daves Killer bread. So good I didn't need it! Now out to the field to finish planting my 30 lbs of garlic! Adios my friends.

Oh, the High Tunnel is just considered a protected ground cover for growing directly in the ground. I am bound to that by the Cost Share agreement with USDA NRCS for 3 years. Then I can do what I want with it but will most likely not turn it into a greenhouse. I'll keep it a High Tunnel. Possibly will use a small end of it for a produce washing and packing area.

I love mixing stuff w/eggs!! I think it might be my favorite breakfast ever!! Glad you were able to have such a yummy breakfast! Great start to your day!
I dunno what all that agreement stuff is but your tunnel is impressive. Sounds like it'll serve many purposes for you!

I did it....

For some reason this morning my quote and multi quote button did not work and I am not going all the way back through 300+++ posts, I had so many things I wanted to comment on that I can't remember a single one of them LOL.

To the new peeps that I did see. Glad ya'll found your way here to a very enableing, helpful, friendly place!

Man things around here have been a bit stressful for me the last few days. Waiting to hear if our offer is the top pick for the property we want, then one of our DS's went in for his phyciatric evaluation on Monday and was prescribed some meds and we will have to wait and see if this will help with his issues or if we have to go further and possibly have him diognosed with bipolar disorder and put him on a more seriouse type of med. (really hoping we don't have to go that rout).

A few weeks ago when Urbanenthusiast posted that she was going through some problems and needed to rehome her chickens I let her know that if she needed to my coop was open for her girls to come live here. So yesterday she and her boyfriend came by to bring their girls to a new home. Not only are her girls BEAUTIFUL, but her and her bf are very great and sweet people. I was so glad to have been able to meet them. It was very hard for her to leave her girls and I wish there was somthing I could do for them. I did let them know that if they were able to find a place where they could have chickens again that they could come back any time and get them.
Also yesterday I went out and bought 3 more big things of shavings so that I could clean out the coop. I wanted to have it done on Monday before they got here but things came up, oh well that is what I will be doing today. As well as letting out my little pullets to be with the flock and then putting Urbanenthusiast's girls into their quarentine area for 2-3 weeks. Hopefuly that will also get them to want to come into the coop at night sense I know that was one problem they were having with these girls was them not wanting to be in the coop at night. We'll see how it goes.

DH will be working this Saterday, and that got me thinking. If he is working then the kids and I would go to the Chahalis show......then I looked up how long it would take us to get there, um yeah guess we wont be going after all. It would be a 2 hour drive and while I am fine with that, our 5 kids would not be pleased! Boo I was getting really excited to.

Hehehe, good job catching up!! Sometimes that task is a daunting one for sure!!

Your post about Urbanenthusiast's visit made me so sad. Chickens or not, they were/are something that she loves very much and the thought of her having to rehome them makes my eyes watery. My heart hearts for her and her bf.
I hope they will find themselves in a situation soon where they can have their girls again.
Cudos to you for taking them in. That's a very selfless thing to do and it's really nice to see that people like you do exist!! Random acts of kindness are often hard to find.

TO: Whoever bought the egg skelter from Manna Pro

Did you get a shipping notification? I ordered 5 days ago and haven't heard a thing. Just got the initial "we are processing your order" email right after I ordered. Hmm

I at least received an order notification. I was surprised at how quickly it arrived. I believe it showed up just about 5 days after ordering. You should have gotten an email confirming your order.

I received my official invitation to callbacks for "The Childrens Hour" yesterday and hooray -

I don't have to be at the theater until 3 PM. That should give DH and I plenty of time to get there for a quick visit and back home in time.

Gotta go check the pantry to make sure I have all ingredients needed to make the peanut butter fudge. I'm SO looking forward to seeing birds and peeps on Saturday!

The dumbing down of America is in full speed ahead with what's on TV.
Being a baseball freak I need my cable but if not for that very few shows I watch.
