Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Yes, she is a Welsummer. I really like the breed and find them to be the perfect homestead bird for me.
Since they don't go broody much, I am appreciating what a good momma she is and will be keeping her for that purpose in the future.
Nice looking birds, that is the reason for my barred I look at them that way
just solid, docile reliable layers

Because people will react from personal need and pay it
others say I don't have it to waste and look for better prices
the amazon is great deal... or depending like I said walmart has
6ml clear 10x25 20.00

That's a good deal too. The stuff on Amazon is twice as thick though. I probably won't need it until the fall now. I don't think we're going to get much rain this summer.

Sad week at our chicken house. The neighbors dog went under my house, under my deck and into my backyard and killed my momma hen.

I am just heartbroken. This is the second hen this dog has stolen and killed in 6 months. The first time our fence had been blown down in a storm, and left unrelated for too long. . I take responsibility for that one. But to have it come in through a hole where the cat goes and literally hunt down my momma is infuriating. Thankfully I had some younger chicks in a brooder(kicked out eggs by another mom). My rooster that had been in total love with these babies is so down. He has slept in her nest box the last two nights. Just sad

So sad. I'm so sorry.

I've been looking up clear plastic tarps. They are really expensive. Where have people found some good ones for a decent price? I don't mind paying for quality but $180 seems ridiculous for a 10 x 12 park.
We bought the clear plastic sheeting that you would use in the crawlspace under the house. I'm not sure how wide you can get it. We had to use clear tape and put a couple of pieces together to to make it wide enough. In my opinion, the sheeting is stronger than tarp material and lasts a lot longer.

They are really pretty and your grass is green! Over here, I am watering like crazy as everything is drying out quick.
