Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I think I have a check with OCD. It is constantly scratching and pecking at one part of the enclosure. Driving me Flippin in sane!

I've heard duck eggs are good for baking. But I've never tasted one. I never really bake anything so I'm good with chicken eggs.
It is supposed to be over 100° here next weekend. Yuck.

Once you have brownies made with duck eggs you will never want them made with chicken eggs again. My daughter made a good batch of cookies from some the other day too. I actually have not tried them hard boiled so we n eed to try that.

We generally hatch duck eggs more than we eat them and I love the fact that our ducks eat slugs and snails because I don't like them eating my bushes. Our yard is so much more enjoyable with the ducks at work. If you live in an area where roosters are not allowed you can still hatch ducklings and they are more fun to raise than chickens, in my opinion.

I like our ducks more than our chickens so one day we might sell all our chickens and just keep the ducks. They are happy in all types of weather and we love watching them. I still like having chickens but not as much as ducks.

No they didn't offer anything. We could've called the sheriff (no animal control where we live). Hubs had to pick up feathers and carcass from our porch into their backyard so wouldn't have been hard to prove what happened. The woman wouldn't come to the door when we first went over. They are just irresponsible. The saddest part is the lack of remorse. To me, my chickens are pets. Like cats or dogs for other people. I would feel terrible if my dog were to harm anyone else's pet. And would definitely offer some sort of restitution.

This probably won't work, and isn't nice to the animal, but it makes a funny story.
My former FIL lived in the city, with an alley where the trash cans were stored for all the houses on the block. One neighbor had a pair of big dogs they let out early every morning to run, unrestricted, before they went to work. The dogs were then locked inside their house while they were at work. So every morning these dogs would knock over trash cans and drag garbage all over the alley. The owners had been asked multiple times to keep the dogs in their own yard. Nope, they wouldn't cooperate at all. Finally my FIL decided to take matters into his own hands. He had some hamburger that was pretty "ripe", so he made a ball and stuck ex-lax inside. A good heavy dose of it. Next morning, as always the dogs tipped over the cans, gobbled up the ex-lax laden meat and then got locked into the house. They SH## all over the house -- a lovely mess for the owners to come home to. Problem solved, they were never left to run the alley again!

I bought this type 4 years ago. The plastic between the reinforcements is thin, much thinner than the cording, and easily punctured. Last year the little plastic squares started popping out whenever there was a breeze or we handled the tarp. By this spring there was only 10% of the plastic left, max., and it literally showered plastic at the slightest touch. Since I'd used it for both the chicken run and a mini greenhouse, the chickens are eating plastic and the garden sparkles with it.

If you choose to buy it, take note that they use heat to "melt" 2 narrow pieces together to make the wider pieces. At that union they often use too much heat and there are already holes in the tarp at that seam. When I discovered the flaw it was already in use so I sent the company pictures. They sent me a replacement.

more like a snack, might get one chicken McNugget out of her.
With mine it would be about the same or shoot myself if I

Well shoot, I don't want that to happen.

That would be a pain but hard to figure we have 4 geodesic
domes and none of them "shower pieces" of any kind all of them
are 8 ml up to 14 bought from Amazon. What I have placed on the
front of my greenhouse one is 6 ml plastic because
the builder of my domes said his greenhouse was done in 4ml
and went to crap in one year.
