how long does it take for the eggs to get bigger? I have a black australorp that lays small eggs. Sort of surprised me because I thought they were supposed to lay big ones.

Takes about a month or so.

sorry we went out to dinner NOT. I was pleased when we came home this
afternoon and James said well something new that kinda stuck to the side of the box.
All my nesting boxes are Rubbermaid tubs with the fronts cut out and there was the cutest
little teal kinda coloured egg 1/4 the size of a barred egg we are use to

I know between my barreds these new kids on block have not learned
their colors yet and this is the first to lay of my 16 or so pullets

Letting everyone out of the coop this morning was SO peaceful. No younger chicks screaming for their lives, getting feathers ripped out.
