Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Hi! I'm Marcell from Lacey. Just joined and am picking up some eggs from Penny1960 on Wednesday to hatch. I have been wanting chickens since moving down here from Alaska.

I have a Farm Innovator Model 4250 Pro Series incubator. I am picking up a separate thermometer and hygrometer tomorrow to prepare for my eggs. I originally bought it for a lone duck egg that I brought home from the wildlife rescue I volunteer at- nothing happened with the egg unfortunately (well, maybe fortunately- I would have been at a loss with just ONE duck!).

Lots of questions. Lots of learning to do. Would love to get to know some more fellow Washington friends.

If you have suggestions on coops, I am all ears!

Thanks all- looking forward to getting to know you all better.

Welcome to you too! And my only coop advise is figure out how much room you think you need, then double it. Chicken math kinda works out like that.

New and saying hi from N. Pierce county!

Good morning glad your here get to know who most my birds came from
@junebuggena she is in Long Beach in the wind

I got some pictures of the multicolored Easter Egger (half Quechua, half Easter Egger) rooster today. They are not the best poses but check out how handsome he is. I want to see him go to a flock instead of being eaten so I might even try to breed him back to the hens if I can before he goes. He is still a juvenile so he is not crowing or strutting yet. His beard is not as full right now either so he needs to finish with his molt and do some more growing to reach his full potential.

Here are the pullet colors. They were moving so much since I took pictures just after they came out of the coop and were focused on getting a quick breakfast to start the day.
