Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I am a wee bit worried about the weather, the news heads are saying up to 100 mph winds here on the coast................we are as ready as we will ever be, still I worry about the giant tarp ripping off the house and sailing away~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We had lightening a few times last night wake us up.....now we are both a bit tired.............(yawn!!!!!!!!!)

Over the years I have discovered that there is nothing at all as effective for these problems (that is, keeping tarps down in the wind) as several cheap spading forks; they don't have to work well for their intended purposes, but they're easier to sink into the soil and have more resistance to being pulled out because of multiple teeth.

Of course my other insight offends the tidy-minded: straight, flat, even, continuous surfaces are less wind proof than ones which are curved, bunchy, and composed of multiple smaller pieces.

Hence so many out here on the coast (especially Aberdeen !) that have tarps on every horizontal surface (Homes, Garages, firewood piles) and hold the tarps down with old tires (nice and round and heavy !)

Sometimes I wonder how on earth the people got all those big truck tires up on top of a 2 story home ???????????

To make matters worse, Kim is moving to Colorado !!!
You may try asking RareFeathersFarm if she is interested in your Blue Sumatra, she is in E.WA and has Black Sumatras....

If I have any extra Blue Copper Boys I will see about meeting up...maybe at the Spring Monroe Show ?
If you cannot make it, there may be someone going over the hill to bring a bird to you.
We'll have to waite & see what we have first.

I talked to her on the phone a couple of days ago and she mentioned that they had changed their mind and were wanting to move to the outlying spokane area!! I said "WOOHOO"! lol... things could probably change day to day though :)

Guess I better go make some chowder....talking about it has made me want some !!!!!!!!!!!

The Hoboe Beans with Ham hocks is gone, so time to make a new pot of soup.

We have a pot of soup all the time, this time of year.

I moved the Chantecler.....and so now the Cuckoo Marans have a double coop all to themselves for their growing numbers.
Nice to have more room when this time of year they spend so much time indoors during these storms.

So who got Julia Ellen's WallFlower from the show ?
It was in a half gallon black pot ?

And thanks to CR for getting my cookie tub & table for us so we left early...we both can only stand around for so long & knees/backs & hips start to complain loudly !!!

JB::: Einstein wanted to steal the layered dip...it is his favorite and I had to promise him I'd make him some today !!!!!!!!
