The bobcat knows the dog can't get to it. Can you have your dog off the chain? What kind of dog do you have?

No, he would chase the cat & be harmed....when he is out in the yard on his chain, that is where he is, other than that, he is loose in his dog run off the barn...where he has a doggie door & comes in to sleep on his queen size bed..................and he can go off chain in the field where the farm animals (and chickens) are....................but he cannot go loose, or he chases car (and truck) tires...and has almost caught a few !
He is big...90+ and I have to cut his hair often, or it gets matted badly. Jack is a PyraneesxSpriner cross if you can imagine that, although it has not been genetically proven, we drove to Tri cities to get him from rescue as a flock guardian...oh yeah, and he BITES PEOPLE BADLY !!!
He is a true flock guardian...and hates people.

I broke through the ice and fell in the marsh up to my thighs. I thought it was solid ground since there was grass. The dog rushed over and let me use her as bracing to get out of the mud suction
This happened to me one winter night in January, North Idaho: -20 degrees and my car drove over what looked like a shiney black pavement...then SUNK through: apparently it was a huge ponding on a street....and about 4 foot deep with 4"+ of ice so my front wheels could not connect with the ground...in a front wheel drive.............
Me & my kids got out & walked home, a mile away, with wet pants, water up to out waists IN THE CAR...
The next day I had a friend come pull the car out before it froze into the ice.....and everything was fine....

Took a while to warm up...
