Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

My raised beds are made with just plain 2x12s. Nothing fancy and cheap to replace when they eventually need it. I'm planning on using feed sacks for potatoes this year. Haven't tried them that way yet.

I need to get off my bum and get a bed prepped and peas in. I have hoops and netting to keep the deer out this year
Oh poop...I forgot about peas !!!
I better get my rear in gear too !

sorry but I know the breed quite well judged them myself also, I understand what you where told
the head is of a saint also the color graying on the ears is approved not the entire head
jmho wanting you to be aware, your little girl is sure growing up nicely
Our Jack is half GP...great flock guardian, and see how he has the GP fluffy upright ears like your girl ?
We clip him several times a year because he just does not shed much & gets matted...once matted the knots are hard to get out.....

This is after a recent clipping

If he goes unclipped, he gets a mane like a lion, and long feathers behind front legs & shanks of hind legs...he is a bone head !

You guys are killing me here is a picture of my garden I just took I don't think it's ever going to warm up it was 14 degrees this morning.

That is TOO COLD ! like I used to live in north idaho & it got -20 and -28 for several weeks at a time.....

Peas are super easy and can go in early. I'm doing a bush edible pod this year. Got tired of shelling them. Well there will be a few of the old fashioned kind because I like to pick and shell those into my mouth because they are so sweet.

Squash does superb in this climate, but plant those later.

Yeah, but you get properly hot summers. I consider it lucky to get over 70* for more than 2 days in a row here. Makes trying to grow anything a challenge. Have to start early, since it takes so long for things to really start growing.
Got a green house made ?

I want to make 2 this year, one for me, and my plants, and one for the pigs.

mine will have clear sides, the pigs get the pallet sides

Hog fencing & wired together with a foundation wire tool....on a drill gun

Fast, easy, inexpensive, and I get heavy green house plastic that should last 6-8 years.
The green house plastic I have on my old green house is still in great shape & it has to be 6 years old now....

I'm wanting to start a garden this year, but have ZERO idea how or what to plant!
Start with peas. They are really easy. A decent sized pot, some soil, a trellis of some sort, and sunshine are all that are needed. I like to set my peas and beans on my porch and let them grow around the railings. With vegetable gardens, starting small is important.

No green house yet. Really need to get one built, but it has got to be seriously sturdy.

Great! Suggestions on when to start them? I put my name into a lottery with GRuB for raised garden beds. Hoping to hear soon on who was chosen. If I was, they come out and build 3 raised beds, one with a trellis, and soil for you. Got my fingers crossed!!!
