Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Lobster claw. Has an extra toe tip coming off at an odd angle. And doesn't have right number of toes.

Doesn't effect the bird. Is a disqualify fault and not something you want to breed from.

No one has crippled feet or curled toes.

so it could be one of the two I do want for broody that would work think the tiny eggs from them otherwise would be fed back to birds scrambled or to the dogs the same way
Yeah, lavender is recessive and impossible to find and remove easily once introduced. I wouldn't want that headache in another flock.
I love the colour of them and having that for the flock is great I may breed a cockerel from them to a few ee knowing the black would be there but it's just a mix for egg color
Introducing silkie into my layers just makes them better mothers when they go broody. Which 4 of them currently are.

Silkie eggs make the best deviled eggs. Small enough to be bite size and better white to yolk ratio.

Their eggs are just under size small. The very biggest silkie eggs I've gotten have just barely weighed in at small

oh deviled eggs sure never go bad here these guys and me would eat them all the time

I make them for hubby's lunch sometimes. If I don't overfill them too much I can put the halves mostly together for clean travel. 3 eggs is a good snack for him. Much better than the sugary crap he likes to buy

sure would be great that way ... was thinking and mentioned it to my BF he thought pretty neat idea having two when they aren't broody We will have plenty to make them

well did we all survive the eclipse? We all kinda hid from it James I planted the last fall crops potato and mustard greens

Watched it. We got about 97%. The fog started to blow in as the temp dropped. As soon as it was back to 80% covered, the fog cleared completely. Didn't get dark enough to see stars, but did get dark enough to see a satellite in orbit for about 30 seconds.
