I have baked my brains out today baked the oatmeal apple desert they just need the caramel drizzled on banana bred next had enough for 2 loaves, also9 dinner rolls now rising did clean chickens this morning went back out to check for eggs BF's favorite EE laying on her side most the morning she was in a spot they do dirt baths so did not pay much attention first still there at 3 picked her up she did not struggle at all first set her down she fell over took from roost set her on the floor she did get her feet under her and walk but gently picked her back up putting her in favorite nest box.

Hope she is ok I had one do that in cold damp dirt I did the same thing she fell over couldn't walk but when she warmed up and dried off zoom away she went hope that's all with your EE

I sure hope so the cockerel I bought is a big boy very nice I do have few hens smaller than her and are alright ... she was severely picked on by the br that is why they went to auction did not notice before her breast is almost totally exposed

That's terrible wonder why they would pick on her so much. I have a lot of different breeds running around and haven't had anything like that. I had two different groups in the barn Copper Marans Legbar and EE's in one group that had been running around and opened the other pen up with cuookoo (spelling) marans and golden sexlinks and it was battle royal for a day the Legbar were the meanest of all to the new group there were some serious fights I had to break up but next day things were pretty cool. There is another group with barred rock and EE's and 9 other breeds that all get along they are south of the barn and never venture over to the others I find that strange.

I will never know what they were thinking as the EE mothered a group into that coop when she was really young herself and they got worse and worse over time not even letting her eat when I finally figured out was happening I took all them to auction but did sell three to great customers that butchered them for soup... 7 gave me 50.00 buck at auction not bad

Thank you this morning she was in the corner reached in she moved to the nesting box I cleaned last night poop was filling food pvc noticed she had come out to eat

well took house dogs out then the pyrenees pup snow and old gsd bad news putting plastic chairs in the barn realized snow had found a chicken out and proceeded to play tag the wrong way had her down fast I go after her no wrong answer me on my knees try to stand only to fall again managed to get her from snow back in coop clip her wings check her over let her go

Wee Richards favorite EE is gone I had to put her down last night ... she had all of a sudden was throwing her left leg out to the side not walking on it she was in pain and could watch it any more her just getting worse

I always freak out when they start having problems walking
