My two kitties are inside cats. I'm not too worried about the dogs. Once my ladies are ready to free range, I think they'll put my Chihuahuas in their place. It'll be fun to watch. But I'll monitor closely for sure. Installed a treat cage thing for them today. They are so happy. Still come to me as soon as I open the door. Curious how long you guys think I should wait before turning them loose free range? At this point they've only been in the coop one night. I'm not wanting to rush them. But I'm not wanting to confine them either.

I would keep them in there a week. At least. And then start opening the door and hour or so before sunset at night. They’ll gradually wander farther and farther away. You can usually use treats or scratch as a bribe to get them to come back at night at first.

Thanks! It's been fun adjusting them to the outside. My dogs are smaller than the birds. Haha .I can't wait to let them play together.

be careful introducing the dogs a peck can blind a small dog
Ooh. Good advice. Thank you. My curious chi hasn't been agressive, just curious. The ladies didn't seem threatened by her today, but I'll certainly make sure to watch closely. I'm so happy to have all this advice. You guys and gals are awesome.

Chris
