Broody's are great to have allot easier then a incubator have the 4 BR that we bought at auction threw the one Marans that turned out to be a cockerel and the cream legbar I bought to keep it company yesterday after a week the marans came up dead legbar is fine so will put it in the main coop when the BR are big enough to go in the will protect it

3 pens of hens. 5 broody in one. 2 in one and 1 in the last. Usually they prefer to sit together.

I separate the ones who will get chicks off into one of those city backyard coop/run things. It's a large one and I can block off the ramp until the chicks are a few weeks old. Plenty of windows so it's not dark inside.

Hatch size determines how many hens I put in. Was only 3 chicks last time so was only one hen.

Have a dozen eggs the 4 of them share so one goes to eat or for pets next time another one come out all depends every now and then I will lift one set her aside will be candling all of them in a few days

Hope you get 12 for 12 this time on the Marans. One of my Marans girls went broody again I need to get a band on her not sure if it’s the same one as last time or not, last time she was only broody for a couple of weeks not sure if I should trust her or not. She is very passive can take eggs from her with out a growl or anything have a broody cuckoo Marans that nailed the heck out of me last night it actually really hurt.

I have a hen in the main coop she will break an egg if try to take it from her and she is not broody at all .. Hey has anyone here went for a drivers license or id recently I was charged 54.00 yesterday for 5 year ID.. I am unable to drive but even I see a rat in that

Yup it’s expensive but aren’t they so much prettier that they used to be I’m sure that’s the reason

I am sure if they cannot gouge with tab fees they do it through the license fees
sorry one of my pet peeves

I agree I remember when the tab fees were outrageous and then went way down then they started the gouging in other areas or special costs for some bs then the extra money just goes into the general fund and gets squander there.
