For now we have them in the sanitized hospital bin. This week we should be able to get some pallets and make a temp. Coop with the dog creat and pallets for them.

They were pretty stressed out with the capture and ride back to my place so I gave them food and water and shut the door. Figured a quiet place for them to destress was probably good. They are gorgeous! A little skittish but that's ro be expected.

Also went out and bought some second hand compost bins! Pretty excited! Hapoy to have a place to put all of their waste!

Probably only I could be happy that we got enough rain fast enough to pool everywhere. Went out rat hunting tonight while the nasty little pests had no holes to hide in. A few juveniles got away, running out across of field while the dogs went for the big targets. I even got one with my pvc rat spear and boot.

If the pattern follows like previous years, they will be gone before January and we should be free of them until sometime in late spring when the water pools dry up enough for them to easily come in from the road again.

I'll have treadle feeders in all pens by then.

alright guys. I have another question for you. My girls are about 14 weeks old. now..I cant tell if I am paranoid or not. I cant remember if my girls combs were brighter before...but now that I have had sick hens and did a lot of research into signs of health I noticed two of mine have yellow combs...I think they have kind of always been yellow...is this a sign they are sick or is this just their youth? I will try and get a pic later. Dont want to have to change my clothes right now to go handle them XD working really hard to keep that bio security up.
