Since we are in the city we are only allowed 6. So that kinda stops the crazy chicken math from happening. I think it's funny though because when we were looking to buy a house I turned down every house in an hoa because I knew eventually I wanted chickens. My husband thought I was crazy. Now he is in love. It broke my heart when he went out and found his chicken dead. He cried so hard. Even though we both knew the likelyhood of one dying I think we just thought it would have happened before we got so attached.

He is already talking about what he might name the new ones XD

Quail make silkies look like giant monsters. Mr Quail has all but moved in with the silkies to sleep. He's not as skittish of me now. Doesn't mean he can sit still. Like a hyperactive toddler.

Something else I have noticed about these tiny quail chicks, they are poop machines it’s unbelievable. They also seem to think they can swim not, good thing I put rocks in the waterer.

So I'm very sure my two black ladies are black sex links. But my question is are black sex links usually bigger than barred rock hens? My remaining barred is very small compared to the black ones. Also what's a good healthy way to add weight to a hen. My barred seemed to lost weight while sick. She feels as though she gained a little back.

You have hatchery birds so those will vary I had hatchery barred 4 years ago they grew quite large
