I seem to have inherited a bunch of kittens. There has been a cat hanging around in the barn it’s wild but it’s been more visible lately, yesterday Wally my lab was going nuts between the barn and another shed closer to my house. Then I seen 3 kittens poke there heads out and later herd frantic meowing from the barn saw 4 more overthete. I am thinking mother cat got taken out by coyotes Saturday night when she was moving them. They appear to be about 4 weeks old, can they eat dry kitten food ok? I bought some and put it in both places and they ate some but drank a lot of water.

No sign of the mother huh better if you can get them out otherwise you will be overrun
before too long if you contact paws they will usually loan hava hearts to catch them

I have one small trap they seemed to have all went back to the barn last night. Still no sign of mother cat, they ate and drank lots this morning they are wild little buggers. I have a stupid amount of broodys I counted 13 last night what is going with them I don’t know.

4 weeks they usually need some milk still. Soft food is best. I always would warm whole milk and soak kitten food in it when we dealt with kittens that age.

It's been a long time since I dealt with kittens. They have kitten formula easily available for very young kittens now. We had to search 4 pet store in Virginia Beach to find kitten formula when I had to feed 2 week olds because the mother abandoned them.

Good luck on this keep an eye out for Mom also just in case .. sad part if she is still around soon as she isn't feeding she goes right back into heat

you will need to use a hava heart I am sure they where born feral might behoove now to start trapping them bring them in to socialize them a bit make it easier for Paws to adopt them even as barn cats .. I know it allot to take on but well worth it
