Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Yes, they are legal to have in backyards around here and I emailed city hall for clarification on the legalities. thanks for the sizing tips. Do you kno where is the best place to buy hardware cloth is? Thanks!
I got HW cloth at Home Depot. The 4 sf per bird is for the coop. They need much more for the run, for a large breed chicken you need 10 sf each. Not sure by the photo that yours are large. I recommend visiting the articles page where you can find a lot of info on coops of all sizes and designs.

Amazon is best for price BUT it'll take a month to get right now. They are only shipping pantry or medically needed items quickly. (I was going to buy a new sleep mask last night and it said Apr 21 for delivery. The safety sunglasses would be here Thursday)

Feed stores carry hardwarw cloth.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the tips on how to deal with my new family members. I talked to my neighbor and fortunately he's been feeding and letting them sleep under his deck arbor, but he's worried about them as well. He's going to help me build a coop but asked that I get rid of any roosters in the brood. I guess his wife can't stand when rooster crow :D

I'll update once the coop is built and they are safe! Thanks again and happy to be here with you! :love

ps- these chicken tractors look cool! And I could move them around the yard. Not sold on that solution yet but considering all options.

Welcome to the state thread Erika have not seen here before we are good down our way
staying home but needing to reinforce our front fence our mareema has realized she can go over it :he never tried till now not certain why :rant

Urgh. We don't have real fencing around the property. The barbed wire only still exists in places. I taught the dogs to stay on the place and also not to pass the drive gate. That was a long hard ordeal with the german shepherd.

The schipperke I had before didn't respect fences. She'd go through, around, over, or under as a last resort. That dog was a very good climber.
