I weigh mine too! A couple days ago I had one 71 grams and one 47 grams! So much fun!Good morning everyone! I've been offline a bit and just got caught up on what's happening in WA!We are having a hot streak here...today it will be 102, tomorrow 107, Friday 106...too hot for me, my chickens & my rabbits!
We got our first eggs yesterday, 4 of them...that we know of! Two were laid in the nesting boxes, one was in the pen near the water and I went on an Easter egg hunt and found one in the free range pen!!! I'm going to have a colorful egg basket! I believe the largest is from one of my Welsummers, the green one is either from one of my EE's or my Sapphire Olive Egger!
I'm going to weigh my eggs, just because I'm curious to see the difference between the first eggs and the ones laid later!
52g, 41g, 32g & 31g!

It will be interesting to see the difference in weight...I mean the large egg from the store only weighed 7g more than the egg from my Welsummer, which came in at 51g! Definitely fun!!!I weigh mine too! A couple days ago I had one 71 grams and one 47 grams! So much fun!
I was going to go to feed store today and check out their pullets but DIL needed us to take the baby. Second bottle, second diaper, now she’s on the second nap. That’s ok it’s going to be hot today and I’d have to fiddle with some shade cloth. Or staple up feed bags, that’s what I did last year.We have several colors in our egg basket and the ages I try to keep eggs going all year.. Hard to say weather I have enough ages now I will![]()
