How are birds this morning ? in my old age I am trying to lean to knit and crochet. I was confused leftie lived with my Grandma, she would smack my wrist with a wooden spoon if I used my left .. had them doing it in my classes .. my brain is left found someone that can teach left or me old enough to sit still and do it

Good morning! My old lady hen is still alive. We’re about to move the emus to a shed. Kids are keeping an eye on the other birds that won’t move from the next boxes. Also have a broodie duck sitting on 15 or so eggs, shes my next worry.

Good luck with the knitting! And hope these fires don’t take anymore homes and animals. My bosses uncle lost his farm and home last night. All animals perished.

The fire here only has hot spots left. Crews have been working nonstop.

Still at huh well peep is in littlest wire dog box, already had chicken wire on part Son added some hardware cloth to the rest she is in there water food shavings peep did well .. eveyone is doing the cluck, cluck to her was thinking a good 4 days .. She would not hold still this morning I am not as good as Kim with this photo

With the emergency warning coming in I’m worried about the birds. We don’t even own a fan, and the warning came as I was driving back home from shopping in town

I have baby rabbits, young quail, chickens, ducks...no way to house them all inside

I feel your pain! I have been stressing out all day about what to do. Will fans even help? With 50+ birds and two emu, stressed is not a strong enough word to express what’s going through my head. Already lost one, who’s next?

In the next two days...

Some kind of a shelter with sheets up? We have open stalls, but no large buildings to house anyone in. The coops are too small for daily use. The outdoor run has the teenagers in it.

Yeah I just, can’t think of a solution for several days of housing so many different small livestock. My garage is full of crap, we use every inch of the house with everyone home all the time. Hhhhhh. This is my whole winter’s meat on the line.

We are suppose to start to cool off a bit chipped ice is great welcome treat I use dollar store dish pans fill them take them out that can help or frozen veggies in those tubs are great I do not want to loose birds either but be creative if it is frozen

The sad thing about when I posted this on Monday is that we had that fire start here about 2 hours later. I jinxed us.
