Hey all! Long time no chat. My birds are doing well but poor Gabby has decided to molt now that the wet and cold is back. I am equal parts sad for her and amused by how scraggly she looks. One of my lavender orps is almost as bad. The other chickens had the good sense to drop their feathers while the weather was still hot.

I sympathize with you and Gabby both. My poor Comet is 2.5 weeks into her 1st molt. She's hardly recognizable. She lost her tail feathers and now looks like a squatty ball of a mess! But her feathers are growing in great and she's her happy nutty self!

Poor babies, the both of them. Gabby had a hard molt last year too, but she did it earlier, so I thought she might not be molting hard this year. I was wrong.

Good morning had great fun handing candy to little kids last night.

They had real regular oyster shell at Cenex in Poulsbo today. My chickens went nuts over it!

Did they have the pellets I hate it it. May take a trip to Morton feed store.
I bake there own shells not hot on them now.
Richard and I had the day in town alone in town.

Last year 21 and some of 20 there was a shortage, I bought some as they game available. I have a few from scratch&peck

the car windshields were frozen when I let the dogs out at 5:30,
it was 31 out but now its 33 , I am not ready for frozen

I have 4 stalks. 1 is not even a stalk yet maybe by Easter?
