Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

If you keep the reservoir full, it should keep the radiator full. If it's not, then you have another small problem with the overflow hoses or the radiator cap.
It could be a small leak in the radiator core too. I had that happen with a Camry I used to own. The overflow was full, but it overheated. The radiator was almost empty. Had to get a new radiator to fix the problem.

Pete is fine thanks for asking.
Most my older girls still tell him no.
He still kinda randy like but has started listening when a bird lays.
then does the rooster call.
You could have Pete back if you want he has turned a easy keeper.
My girls seem to be waiting for Jake to step up.
Was a site to see Jake roost with Pete last night.

Cooper is doing great. I get up early to let him out so he can get the early girls before Pippi is out of bed. He is fully integrated, but being kept at bay all day by Pippi. And that's a good thing. I don't need a hormonal cockerel terrorizing the layers. But, I'm happy to know I have some fertilized eggs too.

Nice! I'm glad he's doing well with your flock. Thanks for the offer, but I'm enjoying the peace and quiet of having no roosters around.

Sounds like he's getting a good education! Are you going to hatch some of his eggs soon?

I mixed up a single bowl of mash a little while ago and watched closely when I put it in the run. I can definitely tell which pullet is at the bottom of the pecking order, because she hung back away from the bowl. And any time she got close the others would chase her away.

And I'm pretty sure that this is the same one that keeps laying eggs off the roost overnight. I got seven good eggs in the boxes today, and there was one broken one under the roost. It had some calcium on the shell, but it wasn't hard. But every one of them laid today.

So maybe that one isn't getting enough nutrition? Or it's just too timid and is always stressed out? Maybe adding a couple more next boxes would help.

At least, as a group, their laying is better overall. I don't see 2 or 3 or 4 soft eggs under the roost anymore, so I guess their internals are maturing and figuring things out. I'll just be patient.

Right, there was an air leakage preventing the suction from filling up the radiator.
Again too, coolant is one of the fluids most people neglect to change periodically.
