You can make a little nesting bar very easily with a 2x4. Just cut a couple cross bars and put a longer one on top. It will only be a few inches off the ground, but it works. I used those for a long time when I had smaller coops.

My neighbor across the road got video of a black bear in his backyard yesterday morning. Hope it stays on that side of the road. LOL

I had black bear jerky once. It was very good!

The display on my Macbook started flickering this morning, with vertical lines running down the middle of the screen. It's 13 years old, so I guess it's due for some problems.

I'm backing it up with Time Machine right now. After that I'll try resetting the NVRAM to see if that helps, which is easier than it sounds.

I'm using an old HP laptop now that I have as a spare, It'll take a while to get used to using a PC instead of my Macbook.

We have one around here. There have been lots of pictures from trail cams. It hasn't gone after any livestock. We get them often enough that I'm not super concerned. The cougars concern me when they are spotted. It's been a few years for those. We aren't that far from town.

We have black bear here too. We saw it down the road a couple weeks ago actually. I don’t worry about them getting to the chickens, but I sure look over my shoulder when I walk out there. Seriously I’m more concerned about the cougar.

There a good 100 acres or so of forest behind my house. No telling what's running around back there. Maybe even a bigfoot. LOL. I've heard there was a cougar with cubs a few miles from me last year, so they're around.
