I went out at 8:30 surprised me how warm it was.

I tried chopping up cabbage into bite size pieces for the chickens, and they seem to like it that way. I chopped up a bunch of lettuce, a couple tomatoes, a gourd and an apple too. Chopping seems to be the way to go, at least for the chickens.

It's a little over 50 degrees here, and warm enough to fool a tree frog into thinking it's spring. I heard one croaking out there!

I just hope it’s not going to do something weird like an Arctic blast in retaliation. I know the trees need their chilling and all but it’s not hurting my feelings having the warmest December on record!

Yes it does. All six eggs were a little messy from the cabbage/lettuce runs.

I just hope it’s not going to do something weird like an Arctic blast in retaliation. I know the trees need their chilling and all but it’s not hurting my feelings having the warmest December on record!

I'm sure we'll get some payback for this warmer-than-normal weather in January and February.

Wish my sprouts were growing. They just sort of stopped when it got colder. Oh well, the leaves are good chicken food.

I'm making a loaf of bread in my bread machine now, kind of a weird experiment. I had a package of dry ham glaze laying around that I never used, so instead of sugar I added a few tablespoons of ham glaze to the mix. Maybe it'll be good bread. Maybe not. LOL

These are the flinstone boys I just got.
Named then Barney and Fred.
Fred the black tail is 10 months. First photo Barney 9 months
has more the white tail.

Does anyone know where I can get Swedish Flower Hens in our state? I live in Seattle and trying to avoid ordering from a hatchery where they have to be shipped.
