Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Well its starting to warm up flowers are starting to come out and we are starting to get eggs again after their winter break!!!! Husband just last night said we need to start looking for some new chicks to add to our flock!!! (LOL chicken math) did you all see the news about the cost of eggs gonna go up in the supermarkets.

Actually the more I thought about this ad, the worse it is. They are past the first year with the most eggs. Which is probably why they are getting rid of them.

A general laying hen is only worth about $30. Point of lay pullets being worth the most.

Breeding stock for show or rare birds will be more depending on the line, bird, and rarity.

Hubby told me I may have come across wrong. Well what he said I can't type here.

I wasn't trying to be mean to you. So I apologize. I didn't mean anything against you
No ma'am I didn't take it that way! But thank you for thinking about that.
I just took it as you were amused by the astronomical price!

Yes it was about the price. I have paid that that much for a very good quality show bird for breeding purposes

To be honest I let Jimmy Dean grind my sausage.
Sun is out so far here.

I dont have a choice anymore. Hubby has to restrict sodium because of a med he takes. I used to use their regular when making stuff.

Even the ground pork at the store has salt added. Regular chicken is water cooled in a brine so more sodium. The air cooled doesn't have that but is more expensive.

Frozen peas and lima beans have salt added from most companies. Walmarts great value doesn't so he can have those with only their natural sodium. Great value also has no added salt canned veggies. They taste better than the salted ones I think.

Fast food is off the menu at all so have to pack for trips or long shopping day. Even the no salt fries from most places are processed with salt. Chick-fil-A is the only one that's low enough he can have occasionally.

I need to make some biscuits. I picked up some baking powder that uses potassium bicarbonate instead of sodium bicarbonate.
