thanks and I do agree... she was acting and eating and drinking fine the day of and night when I put them all to bed (lol shut the coops up etc ) but in the morning she was gone. Looked her over but didn't have the heart to explore her insides. she looked so peaceful rather remember her that way.So sorry you lost Clair. I actually prefer to lose a chicken the way you lost Clair, I must say. I want to think they just lay down and go to sleep. It's so hard to say good bye to the little darlings.
I have lost two leghorns this year to heart disease, or whatever caused their ascites. Not such an easy way to go.
