Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Since it's nice and sunny today I thought the chickens would enjoy a little corn cob volleyball. Should keep them occupied for a while. I hardly ever buy "treats" for the girls, but corn was a quarter an ear at Walmart today so I got a couple for them. Me, I'm not a big fan of fresh corn.

Any tips on how to break a broody Hen?? I do not have a roaster but one of my girls has just started acting broody. Yesterday she would not leave the coop. I had to make her leave just to eat and drink and as soon as she was done she ran right back to the coop sitting on an empty nest. I had to pick her up and make her leave the coop again. So I shut the door so she could not go back in. She is so fluffed up and acting so strange!! This is my first time having a broody hen.

A wire dog crate works best shut them in a few days she will keep cluck, clucking when she stops take her out.
This can take up to 5, 6 days some.

Swinging cage with wire bottom. Need the airflow under their skirts constantly.

Or you could make a nice new nest in a place far away from their coop and move her to take care of chicks. That's a surefire way to break some of mine. They get so upset at being moved.

Can I set the cage up on top of my water station? or should it be ground level ?? had to move the water so that it was not in the sun but the 1st photo shows the water station
