Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

This is going to be quite a healing journey. Hope it all goes faster than expected!

6-12 months for full recovery I was told.

Freaked mom last night because I was out with the billhook again cutting blackberries that were encroaching on the driveway. She's scared of me using it now. I've had and used it for years, though.

Picked a big handful of green and rattlesnake beans, blanched and froze them with the beans I picked a couple days ago. Cleaned the house finally.

I should be starting seeds for fall garden. Collards and bok choi especially, and direct seed carrots and beans if I have any left over in my seed stash.

One entire stem of a kale that I'm letting go to seed was literally COVERED with aphids. I cut it off and threw it to the chickens.

I use few drops of Dawn and sprayer of water kills aphids dead.
I get aphids on my roses time to time don't want to feed that to the birds.

We used dish soap and water on the aphids back in the 80s. It suffocates them by clogging their air holes on the sides of their bodies. Insects don't get oxygen like us

Dawn water kills the heck out of paper wasps too. My new outdoor TV/FM antenna and pint canning jars were just delivered onto the porch. Need to go out a see how many jars broke during shipping.

No glass was broken but three of the jar rings and the lids under them were dented so they can't be used. I started a return back to Amazon and was given the option of a returnless refund. So they refunded my money but I was able to keep the jars. That worked out well! I'll need to buy some lids now.

Got the new antenna put together and tested. I'll climb up on the roof tomorrow morning and mount the thing.

I'm a little scared of you using it now too. :(

Have you considered going to Bob's in Longview? They have all the canning supplies you could ever need.
