ugh!!! just saw rats in my chicken run !!!! not just one or two but a bunch of them!! GROSE!! no food in the run but they are there !!!! this is not a good time for me down to 6 chickens and now rats !!!! still dont know what killed our chickens but the rats are new... maybe the smell of the dead chickens invited the rats.... WTF!!!!!

They move in here to be dry. I raised the silkie houses up high enough for silkies to walk under and haven't had much issues since. The silkies will absolutely attack en masse and kill them.
 
I had rats at one time dead shot with a pellet pistol and black plastic
traps bated with peanut butter I killed like 18 before we where done.
They did chew my hard plastic feeders the opening.

More bird flu found in Washington. They've found the greatest risk factor has been exposure to wild waterfowl.
State veterinarians say the biggest risk factor to date is direct contact with wild waterfowl. Since May 5, 2022, when the WSDA announced the first Washington case, the majority of 51 affected flocks (two commercial, 49 backyard) have had contact with wild waterfowl.
