Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I thought you had a water bath canner. That would be better, and maybe not make the beans mushy. They get so soft under pressure.
I don't think beans can be safely processed in a water bath. And anyway, I grew up eating mushy beans. They taste great, especially when you put several slices of bacon in the pot. Cook 'em till they melt in your mouth!

Pickled beans can be safely water bathed because of the acidity in the vinegar.

Awesome! Glad there’s a fresh thread—excited to keep the Washington discussions going without the old thread slowing things down.
Nifty is the owner of BYC he started the thread but lives in California.
So does not use our state thread.

Oh, ok. I'll make the pickled ones then. I really don't like mushy beans and I'm not fond of bacon either. lol

The food mill is mainly for tomatoes, removing the skins and seeds so making tomato sauce is easier than it was last year. I might make applesauce this fall with it too.
Okay that makes sense. No, I don't have a recommendation. I just blanch and peel them.

I ended up ordering this one.
