Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Sunny here too. I sat by the chicken run watching the nestbox for over an hour this morning so I could find out which pullet is laying. No eggs laid while I was there so I started painting the house.

After I got tired of painting I checked the nestbox. And there was a cold egg. Darn thing must've laid it as soon as I walked away from the run. I'll try again tomorrow.

I need to know because this pullet has been laying for two or three weeks, and none of the others have started yet. I want to raise chicks from here so I get some earlier layers.

How old are the pullets now?

I bet she's not laying because you are watching. :lau

I have to buy some shoes this month too. Thinking of ordering online. That's kind of a pain because I have to order a few to decide what I want,, and then sometimes don't want any of them. 😁

Didn't know about the flu going around. I don't want it either. Might wait a couple weeks.

We've been waking up to overcast skies for a few days, but it clears up by the afternoon and is beautiful. Not quite as hot as it was and that suits me just fine.

Ordering shoes online is a nightmare for me. I have narrow feet and sizes vary too much. Found a brand out in town that fits and what size of theirs I wear. Bought that one then went online searching. I buy new pairs if they go on sale for less than $35. I don't recommend Clarks if you have wide feet. They run narrow as is. My Mom cannot wear them in wide

This is all we got from the aurora last night before the clouds really moved in. No real color, just the white we usually get when it's barely reaching us. Normally it's dark that direction. Only direct NW has any light pollution from town.

I have found that Nordstrom sizes work for me and they have narrow, regular and wide. Most importantly, they have leather. But, I don't skimp on shoes. My balance is not so great these days, so I am very particular.

Mom said she had to buy Clarks for me as a little kid as they were the only ones that didn't fall off. They aren't a cheap shoe, but Amazon has sales and I'm really good at checking. They make a nice loafer style.

I cannot have any pressure on the tops of my feet anymore. Wearing Birkenstocks for 30+ years caused me some issues with bone spurs on top that became bone plates that the nerve runs over. Laced shoes cripple me in a few weeks of wearing.
