Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I can put the airless paint sprayer away now. I went up and down the ladder all around the house and finished painting the siding. Trim next. Someday. LOL

I'll probably remove all the masking from the windows and skirting today if I have the energy.
Yay! :ya You have almost finished that huge project!!! Good for you!!!

I canned all my ripe tomatoes yesterday and then realized I needed some to make stuffed tomatoes tonight. So I found 5 little ones I could pick and stuffed those and then stuffed to red bell peppers to use up the stuffing. Hope it works out. :idunno

It feels pretty good getting that part of it done. Maybe I'll finish the trim this weekend, other than the really high stuff I'll leave for my son. It's all paintbrush work from here on out.

What do put inside the stuffed tomatoes and peppers?

I got the chickens all locked up early in their secure run. The feeder was about empty so I dumped what was left into a couple of half gallon yogurt tubs and soaked it with water. That treat got them all to come into the secure run so I could shut them in. Refilled the waterer too.

The yogurt tubs are screwed to small pieces of plywood so they can't be knocked over. Works well.

Watered some of the cabbages, kale, collards, bok choi and daikon. I'm losing interest in gardening. LOL

The mix is basically ground turkey, shitake mushrooms, a couple eggs and grilled onions, with fresh herbs. The main herb influence is tarragon which I love. I can post the recipe if you're interested. You could easily substitute ground chicken, and your wild mushrooms for the turkey & shitake. And of course change the herbs and seasonings too.

Tarragon is one of the herbs I grew this year specifically for this recipe.

If you don't have one already, I recommend getting a meat grinder. The manual I ones work just fine. All I had for many years.

We sliced up about a dozen apples and have them on freeze dryer trays. Those will go in on Sunday afternoon so I can package them up in mylar bags on Monday morning. May put a few in a mason jar for easy access snacks. Not sure what they will be like before they are reconstituted with water, but I know Pineapple is amazing that way. Like little candies. And then it us also easy to reconstitute.

What is great about the process is I have to freeze it first anyway, so it can always wait in the freezer until I get around to putting it in the freeze dryer.

I decided to share it since I was talking about it for anyone who is interested. Yes, it's from a diet book, but I've been making it for years because it's just so good.
