I went ahead and pulled up all the bush bean plants and tossed them into the chicken run. I need to go back through the posts here and figure out when I planted them so I can plant them earlier next year.

I should really start keeping a garden diary.

I planted a row of fall green beans today, same spot that the first row of bush beans was planted. According to the maturity date there should be beans for picking by mid October if the frost doesn't get them first.

Found it. I planted the beans seeds August 19th. Should've planted them mid-July.

I did a super cleaning today Dyson.
I run her battery out on me and get all rooms plus more before she gives out.
Finish with a flat broom we have, our dustpan is a standing box style.

I planted my fall green beans too late. They just started blooming a week ago so no chance of them producing.

Ugh same here, meant to put them in earlier and kept forgetting, and they're just blooming now.

My chickens love eating the leaves with no ill effects.

I got ALL the tomatoes picked, most were green, and threw all the plants into the woods. Picked all 14 butternut squash and a giant zucchini and threw those plants to the birds too.

Pulled up all the dead, dry dill plants and rubbed all the seeds off into the garden to get next year's dill crop planted.

I'm going to cover the habanero plants with buckets again tonight since I don't have the energy to pot them up. Green beans on the Blue Lake vines, I'm hoping to get those picked. There aren't a lot, probably one meal's worth.

The big zucchini is bright yellow on the bottom, so I hope it's mature enough that the seeds will grow. I'll let it sit inside for a month before I cut into it. I read that seeds continue maturing even after a squash is cut from the vine.

You have a freezer full of beans too, don't you?

BTW, those pickled green beans I made and processed for 15 minutes were still kind of crunchy when I ate them. They tasted ok but I won't make them again. I'd rather have cucumber dills.

I have a pint of experimental green tomato dill pickles I'm going to open and try today. I hope they're good because I have LOTS of green tomatoes I'll need to use somehow.

ETA: Nope, not gonna make pickled green tomatoes again either. Mushy, bitter and just wrong. I don't think I'll be able to eat any more of them, and that's saying something coming from me because I hate to waste anything.
