Silkies will absolutely stand in the spots of rain. Why mine are fully roofed and I tarp sides for winter.

Im not sure how to fix you're issue. If you can do the gutters that would probably be best

I think we are going to hit the leak with waterproof RV seal tape; then we will either attach a 2ft length of tarp from right under the roof to the back side of the fence, or do gutters.

I think the tarp is probably what we will do for now because it won’t require removing any hardware cloth. We can install a gutter later this winter. The tarp will also keep rain from going in at an angle so it’s probably the better solution for the time being.

My other thread someone called it an auto waterer and it’s the first good laugh I’ve had in a while - we stared this coop in June and kept getting interrupted by stuff with the kids or other pets, and we are flying out of the country next week so this really needs to be finished this weekend so I can get our gals settled in the coop before we leave!

I went to do the coops started raining while I was done cleaning it.
Filled the water buckets with nipples inside then the feeders.
Walked back in just one egg so far.
Did our dishes sitting here like a lump.

The power went out at 11:55. I covered the incubator with a couple of heavy towels to hold in the heat.

We have not had the power out here rarely of that.

We have a small battery backup that I bought for hubby's Cpap but it can be used for an incubator if needed. I cant remember how long it will last with that draw. I had checked it

I can fire up my little generator if needed. Never mind, power just came back on.

You didn't lose power yesterday? Ours was out from 4pm to about 10pm.
