Hey good morning all how is the kitty adjusting ?
Emptied the ash from the fire box. Sitting here with coffee the world is alright a bit scary sometimes.

Good morning! Skitty Kitty spent the night under our bed and is still there now. He'll eventually get hungry, but I wouldn't want to coax him to eat just now. The doc said he will be nauseous for a day or two, so we will let him decide when he is hungry. He knows where the water and food is. Neither cat wants anything to do with a cat box, so we now have taken the sand out and put in dirt. That might be more natural to them. Eventually will use it because it's his only option.

Rainy and cold here. I was able to staple more hardware cloth to the run before it started. Still have a few gaps to fill in and a door to build and mount.

Hey well tried to lay down sleep evaded me.
We are going to head the feed store get a bag of scratch.
raining really hard here just now.

Right on schedule, two eggs have pipped.

Five hatched so far. The eggs are all from just one of the pullets and there might be chicks from two different fathers, the RIR and NH cockerels. Wonder if I'll be able to tell them apart?

Headed to the shower, put my big girl britches on.

Two more have hatched out and the last two eggs have pipped. I have to cover an 18"x12" opening in the run, then all that's left to do is the door. The big chicks will be sleeping outside tonight.

The older chicks spent the night in the new run. I had time to build the door, but just screwed it into place temporarily because I didn't have time to hang it on the hinges.

The last two eggs hatched last night, so I got nine chicks from nine eggs.
