Today's not turning out to be a very good day. Please send some good vibes my way please.

Ok! Good I didn't OD them on meds! And I haven't given my chicks any oyster shells, just the chick feed. They are 12 weeks today! Time flies.Sorry this isn't quoted correctly - I had to copy and paste. The post was so long I couldn't get the quote to work...
Thank you! So... should my chicks be on medicated feed!?!? The breeder guy I got them from sold me non-medicated, but he did give me Amprolium and told me 1/2 dose for the first week.... I'm so newbie, you could tell me to feed em tootsie rolls and I would. I haven't been giving them scratch, and they have a tractor run so I haven't been giving them grit either, until two days ago. I wasn't giving them the oyster shells b/c they haven't started laying, but I caved to that too. I just want some pretty eggs darnit!
That's terrible that you're allergic to lavender! At least you're not allergic to eggs like me.
Good call on the fly trap, I haven't had any flies yet, due to winter, but I'm sure summer will cultivate them like mad. Has anyone tried the plastic bag, water,
You gave me chuckle - because I AM allergic to eggs. The list is long - very, very depressingly long.
From what I've heard, if you are giving Amprolium, do not use medicated feed. Hopefully the experts will chime in and explain this better.
Also - from what I understand, chicks can get ill if they have too much calcium, so if they are young chicks, you may want to remove the oyster shells. I know I didn't put oyster shells in until they started laying, and I switched to Layer feed at 18 weeks (which, I think, is supposed to have calcium in it - not sure though). Again - experts... explanations please! We've had great luck with good, thick shells, so I thing our girls are getting enough calcium. DH cooks all the eggs for the fam so I don't have to wistfully wish I could eat them, and he has commented how much thicker our egg's shells are than store bought.
IKEA was a great time! We had a huge group!! 10-11 BYCers and spouses, other family, and kids!! And of course Mr Chicken Rustler showed up to surprise and it was great to meet you! Wishing they had a better setup for tables, it was hard to talk to everyone, so anyone I didn't say more than a quick hello to, sorry! I hope we can all meet again soon and can't wait for the March 16 show!
I have already gone home to pickup DH and DD to head to the family fun center in Tukwila. Meeting DHs extended family for the afternoon.
I want to see your 7 eyed chicken. HahahaI got 12 eggs from my LF and one silkie egg today. My RIR gave me 5 eggs today and 7 eyes on friday. I love how they lay even in the winter.
I am on, but on my phone. DW has the laptop editing photos she took of her friend for headshots needed for city wide acting auditions.Busy BYCers tonight? Where is everyone? My kids are finally asleep and I'm sitting here still feeling the effects of anxiety from that dreadful, terrible, rotten, no good place called a "Family Fun Center." My heart is tight and I feel like crying. From an afternoon of fun. Wowza. Someone come talk to me and make me feel better.
It is a favor. I am the Photographer. I am actually going to go back to college this fall and get my degree in Photographic Arts. I am not fond of this friend(from high school, and tends to be a bit of an emotionally draining person) so I tend to hang out doing something else.Cool! Your wife does photography usually, or is this a favor? I want to see more of Hawaii.
