Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I hear ya!! I took Spanish in 8th grade, some french in 11th and a semester of Spanish in College. I can understand more Spanish then I can speak, I just have a stubborn streak a mile wide! I don't think I should HAVE to speak Spanish to get a job! If I want to that's cool, but, I would rather learn, Italian, Japanese, Polish, and Gaelic,!!!
Good that you can find people to converse with naturally. Cause, ya, I'm sure you know that, the Spanish they teach is NOT the Spanish they speak! Not sure if that is the same for Russian? I have looked around for classes in native Spanish here, but, yea, not happening!

If you use wood to heat your home as I do Craigs is a great way to get it.

Many times people have trees that either come down in storms or they want trees down for what ever reason.

They don't burn wood so they are very happy to get rid of it.

It becomes a win win for both parties.

Unfortunately there are always people out there wanting to take advantage of people on craigs also such as the person in the ad below.
That is why he is delivering it. Clue #1!!!

Lot of people starting out don't realize Cottonwood is basically sponge wood.
One must cut it up into extremely small pieces and even then takes 3 years bare mininum to dry.

Please don't waste your time with cottonwood.
Not only are you obtaining sponge wood it does not give out good heat.

I learned the hard way about 20 years ago when I was clueless about cottonwood.
When I saw this ad today thought I'd take the time to post.
No reason one of you needs to be taken advantage of by this clown.
I have no doubt he knows it is worthless wood because when he cut it into rounds water actually comes out.
If you go to split a round water will actually spit up on you.

This morning (Thursday) I will have 2+ cords green cottonwood firewood rounds up for delivery in my 14 foot dump trailer. The jobsite is in sammamish so those in the closest location will be given priority. Some rounds will be approximately 3' in diameter while others will be perfect for one person to handle. All rounds will be cut to roughly 16" in length. Please have a good area for me to back up a big dump trailer to dump the rounds. Give me a call ASAP, this will go quick. If I don't answer leave a msg and ill get back to you as soon as I can. A donation to cover gas would be greatly appreciated:) Thanks. 425.269.4279

wow! Dang it! That's good to know! I keep bugging my husband to get something else to heat this freakin house besides electric heat! I miss my fireplace and woodstove!!

I just wanted to post and say THANKYOU to everyone who offered to help in some way, support, concerns and prayers for my Bellas safe return. I feel very very lucky to know such great peeps! Especially Rustler for organizing a search and rescue and driving all the way up from Chehalis!

sooo glad you found her!!! Yea he's a heck of a guy isn't he!!! What a pal!!!

You under estimate those stubby little legs! I didn't tell you Bellas nick name. It's Bullet! That dog can fly! It's so funny to watch her. You can't even see her legs. They move so fast they are a blur. So don't even think about any rustling here!
Quote: Well if I didn't have far to go I could probably out run those stubby legs . But if we are talking distance .... Bella has proven she can do that..!!

So I'm excited. I'll be volunteering tomorrow when my 5th grade son attends JA BizTown. He's over-the-top ecstatic - he was "hired" to be a banker.

Do any of you have experience with BizTown? Any hints, tips etc. to provide an untrained volunteer. I'm a last-minute volunteer, so I didn't go to training.

Haven't seen it yet, but from what I understand, BizTown operates exactly like a real community would. The kids earn money and they can go shopping with their paycheck. My kids started taking JA courses in first grade, I believe it was, with the ultimate goal of being prepared for BizTown in 5th grade.

Well, I'm off to meet with the 4-H Extension agent. Looking forward to it.

interesting!!??? never heard of it!! Good luck!

Wanted to share this before I forgot, for all my moley friends. Remember the mole I removed with C-herb? It worked beautifully and this is the final result after 2 months of healing.

Quote: LOL..reminds me when I was trying my best to learn Spanish. As I did a lot of trucking from the border north and I was dealing with mostly Mexicans I thought it would be smart to learn at least a few phrases. Hmm, unintended conseqences do occur.
After one long morning that started very early and several cups of coffee I found my self at the shipper's in Laredo, Tx. Oh yeah, needed to find the head and find it quick.
So, to reduce confusion I ask a group of men where the bathroom was in Spanish. They all smiled, nodded their heads and game me the directions.
In Spanish. Never got that far on the tapes I was using to learn Spanish. I dang near wet my pants.

So Robin, you will most definitely need a "MAP" when you move into your new home after living in the tool shed for 2 years.

Better get one BEFORE you move in, or you may never find your way out again!
