Alright. Thanks guys for the help. It looks like I'm probably going to be taking 5 little birds and 1 really big one to auction in the morning. I'll be scrambling to come up with 6 boxes.

This is what my day looks like tomorrow...

... Drop off birds at the auction.

... Basketball picture day for 3 kids.

... Two basketball games.

... Stop off at the store and buy a nice bottle of wine, come home, relax and have some whine with cheese. Pun intended.

No news yet - we were going to candle today, but didn't get a chance. Hopefully tomorrow. So far, so good. It's probably a good thing you ordered some chicks... my bator likes to spit out cockerels.

Yes I did ! At first I thought ya had some TIG gloves but then saw carhartt on em.

thank you! That's only about 5 cents a lb less than what I am paying at my local feed store. i was hoping for a windfall (sniffle). Anyone else have ideas? Keep 'em coming!

I think? My feed store by my house has the 50lb bag of organic for 28.95 but I don't know the brand and my feed store is Rochester .... Do you want me to check?

I guess I'll probably just hatch some from my own hens the first time. I'm anxious to get eggs in there, to make sure it works well. 

I have been looking to find a local person (i.e. not more that 30 minutes away from me) that has some of the breeds I was hoping for with fertile eggs. So far, no luck.  ( except for the guy who has marans for $2 per fertile egg.) I have not been able to find any lavender or other "different" orpingtons,  barnevelders, wellsummers, speckled sussex, or auracauna/americauna- but if someone has some, I'm happy to trade with what I have (silver-laced, buff Orp, americauna, easer egger, white rock, barred rock). Anyone?

I am fortunate that I have a  EE rooster that is not aggressive or crazy- he;s a little rough on the girls- i've got 2 with bare patches on their backs- but he doesn't attack me or anything, so I've got fertile eggs here.  

What about Kummer poultry in black diamond? He has welsummers, barnevelders and two other(I forget what) name/number is on the welsummers breed site(not forum) on the breeders page

OK so this brings up a little story. See I sell eggs to a friend. Well one Saturday morning Steve went to cook his 4 yo grand daughter breakfast. She saw some of the green eggs from me and said no papa we are not eating those they are bad. Steve goes to the book shelf gets Dr. Seuss green eggs n ham. after reading Issy the story she was fine and now will NOT eat anything but green eggs. So now her parents have to buy those NASTY store bought eggs and dye them green!!!

They are not very proud of me and my green eggs !!

Similar story here...a friend has a 4 YO girl who loves the blue eggs from my bantam ameraucana (sp?). She says "the pretty eggs are just my size and they taste soooo creamy".
