Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I'm looking to re-home my handsome buff Silkie cockerel. This pretty boy started out small, demure and timid, but now has caught up and is larger than any of the girls in my small Silkie flock. I think he's looking quite studly and has definitely gotten friendlier as he's grown. Now that he's found his big boy voice, he really likes to use it. Neighbors have been cool so far but I don't want to push it. Anybody looking for a pretty buff boy? He'd be free to a WA BYC'er who'd promise him a nice home. Otherwise he's going on Craigslist and from there to auction as last resort. PM me if you're interested!
Dana I have a lonely silkiebator. Looking for a coop mate maybe he has a girl friend he would like to bring.

So sorry if this is a duplicate!

This was taken on day three or so. She is getting better each day!

I've been letting her go out for an hour or so each day, but have to watch very closely because the other girls want to peck her head.

She loves being with her friends; but she sleeps for quite a while once she comes in from playing. She also sleeps in our garage, on the same perch (we just move it about.)

The skin has been growing over the open portion, and the scratches under her chin are healed. Her vision seems very improved, if not perfect.

I switched from neosporin ointment to lanolin, as she was preening her feathers so much I wanted to use something other than petrolium.

. It's easy to do, unless you follow small-town NWRCA rodeos or small town politics. It's between Yelm and Tenino, or, to look at it in the most obscure possible way, between Vail Tree Farm and Weir Creek Training Area.
I had no idea there was an NWRCA Rodeo in Rainier. I do know there is an NPRA Rodeo in Roy. We have participated there several times! Nice place but don't order biscuit and gravy at the Saloon. It was so nasty even my dog wouldn't eat it and he wasn't a picky eater.
Well, it used to be NWRCA, but so did Roy, so I may be wrong- we used to live next door to one of the Plumley twins, long ago, and knew most of the local rodeoers. My 4H club used to serve lunch at the Roy Rodeo Dance.

Frodo's lucky to have you as her mom!

Dawn - amazing pic! Thanks for sharing, and I'm so happy she's doing so much better!

I had a tiny hint of broody from my Australorp today...she laid her egg and then sat in the nest box for 4.5 hours!

I was really hoping she was broody, but right before bed she want out and ate, drank, and ran around the yard with everyone else for an hour. NOT broody. Bummer. I've decided I want to have 3-4 new peeps in the spring, or whenever someone goes broody. I want a sex link something or other, Barred Rock, and Speckled Sussex. Really hoping I can get those all at the same time, in some form or another (eggs or chicks).

TY I am grateful to you for sharing her pic and your update. So interesting what you have accomplished. I am amazed and delighted to see how well she is doing under your special care. Very creative set up. Nice touch with the chicken pic to keep her company. She is a pretty girl. So glad you could save Frodo and hope she continues to heal. Much respect, ~Dee~

I'm off to urgent care to get help for me and WIlliam. I'm still sick as a dog and William has a 104.9 degree fever again. That's playing it a little too close to 105 for my own comfort, and I'm totally not a worrier at all. I think I now have a sinus infection on top of the flu. BOO.

Yes, get him there! Take care Jessica. I'm so sorry your family is going through this.
