You can use your brooder lamp and put a 75w bulb in it and hang/hook it just above the waterer. That is what I did for one of my waterers while we are here in Hawaii. But like Imp said, it is supposed to warm up tomorrow.Whew! Busy week and I finally get a chance to sit down for a while and check in. How's everyone!? We've had quite a busy week and this week is no different. Tuesday night we stayed overnight at the Salish lodge and MIL watched the kids. Then I got a broody and read every last book on my shelf that had even the tiniest section on having a broody hen, and finally decided to order chickies for her instead of eggs.
This morning my hair dresser was able to squeeze me in for an emergency appointment since I'm going to LA for a single night with DH on Thursday. Last night I borrowed a little bitty dress from my sister and I'm trying on more of them at a friends' house tonight, to choose just the right one for our night away. We'll fly down, have drinks and dinner at a restaurant the company rented out, free night at nice hotel, brunch with a friend, then we'll fly home Friday. What a whirlwind trip but I'm so excited! I'll try to get some pics in all the excitement and post them when we get home.
I'm SO worried about my chickens while we're gone though. We don't have a heated waterer and unless I leave the run door open the whole time we're gone and give them free rein of the yard and creek (also leaving them completely vulnerable to a predator overnight), then they won't have liquid water the entire 2nd day we're gone. That's NOT OK. Don't know what to do but I really think I'm gonna have to leave the run open for them all.

I have an extra three gallon heated waterer if ya want to borrow it , I know Woodinville is a long way from Pacific. if ya want to come up this way I''ll buy you and DH coffee at Starbucks.

So yesterday, out of the blue, DW says, "When is the 2013 coop-a-thon?"
So -- who needs stuff built?
