I think I'd reccommend reading the Curious Incident of the Dog in The Night-time by Mark Haddon. Your son sounds like the character in his book. FUNNY book- a must read for parents with kids on the spectrum. Give a copy to the teacher too

I wish I had a treadmill. I'm not a runner, but I use to walk 5 mile drive ( point defiance park) daily a year or two ago. Last summer I fell while walking on the sidewalk (nobody helped but several people laughed) My hip has been screwed up after that. It was sprained, no bone injury. But i have reinjured it everytime it's healed after that.

Yesterday I was in so much pain, and yet today in pain near tears I go out and put boards up in the kennel (my chicken pen) giving my chickens a 5 by 7 ft space to give extra room for them. Starting to think that I'm no longer the crazy dog lady and now the crazy chicken lady.

I LOVE the 5-mile drive!! The Gig Harbor lookout is my favorite. I am dissapointed at those rude people. Sometimes I want to give 'em a good

I am "forever borrowing" our tredmill from my step-dad's brother, lol! I just offered to store it in my basement.....ahhhhh, oops??

i've been watching but most are to far away or in horrible condition. I know the box kit for the 12 by 7 ft (6ft tall) at home depot is $250 (that i don't have right now) with free shipping to my house. I think that is big enough for 3 or 4 ducks. It's just saving money takes forever.
I wish I owned a house instead of renting. If i owned the house I'd put posts in the ground and make a pen for the chickens and leave the kennel i have for the ducks. That way I could make a WAY bigger chicken pen. Or even put some 20 ft poles in the ground and get enough bird netting to just cover the top of the whole back yard and let the ducks roam free in my back yard. LOL That would be so cool but renting, can't do that. The fact that the landlord doesn't care that i have chickens and ducks is amazing.

Hey everyone,
I need some creative ideas to keep roosters in the city. We were going to soundproof the coop, but with the recent hawk attacks and having to move the LF to the coop in which we were going to soundproof, I don't think we will get around to that in the near future. With my chicks I have now, it's looking as if I have two Cochin boys, and a Modern Game boy. Any suggestions as to what I could do to keep them in the city without bothering the neighbors?

well made some offers on craigslist on some that people are trying to sell of damaged kennels We'll see if anyone will let me get one. I am hoping for panels so i can expand the chickens area and i can attach panels making a seperate pen for the ducks having it so one fence is shared between the two pens. making each have larger areas.

Hello Washingtonians! I have a pretty large flock of Speckled Sussex (13 hens and 4 roosters). I rescued them last year from a neighbor and they are proving to be great fun and great layers.

I am currently looking to rehome 2 of our SS roosters (for breeding or pets)... I just don't have enough hens to go around! I've attached a picture of the 2 boys (Roo is on the left, Buck on the right), and can post more upon request - I think they would be good for SS breeding stock as they seems to fit the standard pretty well.




They are 9-months old, both are good with "the girls", not terribly vocal, and VERY tame (they enjoy sitting on my lap for cuddles). I would also be willing to part with 1-2 of my SS hens with each rooster for anyone that is looking to start a flock.

We are located in Kitsap County, but I would be willing to drive a fair distance for right home. Any takers??
