Never has been in any show I have ever been in.
I think the idea is YOU need to know your band number, not them, in case of theft, YOU need to ID your bird, so as to prove it is yours.

It would probably be a good idea for anyone showing their chickens to band it with a number and take pictures of the band and the chicken with their cellphone. Just way of proving it. Sad that it comes to that, people would take another persons chicken

Several folks on this thread have actually hatched eggs and kept chicks warm during power outages, comes to mind Cheryl, who hatched cage birds in her ample cleavage, and Red Rooster farm's Anna, who had so many Serama's in lockdown when the ice storm hit last winter & took out her power: she put eggs everywhere in every pocket & under her shirt !
AND THEY HATCHED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hence she is now the "Pocket Chicken Champion" !!!!!!!!!!!

I once kept a rejected newborn kitten in my bra for warmth. She was deformed and rejected by cats and dogs. She had a hole in her throat that leaked and made a bubble under her skin whenever she nursed on the bottle. Hernia in her tummy and cleft lip and snaggle tooth, cross eyed. She was given little chance of survival. Fast forward 14 yrs. She is the only one of the litter that is still alive. She has outlived all her siblings. She is funny. If you touch her she purrs. Instantly. She is my baby and sleeps on my head every night.

Oh what a beauty ! This is the type of kittas I am looking for !!!!!!!!!!!

Hubby would get mad. I have to wait until we get back from California house to do any chicks. He said he is not traveling with chicks. Chickens are bad enough. I won't leave them. I am just drooling. How cute.

Looks like I'm going to have to get working on the new coops. I need to separate out the rocks and brahmas. My rooster has decided that he doesn't like them very much, especially those weird looking rocks that pick on HIS girls sometimes. I don't know what has gotten into him. He was fine with all the girls until last week. If they don't have a beard, he doesn't care for them. Now all the brown layers are starting to lay much less from the stress. Only Pinky the EE lays a non-blue egg regularly now.

Going to be moving where the chickens are and the dogs will be in the pen they currently are in. I'll be building a few 4x6 coops and putting them under the back part of the carport. That will give them a nice enclosed sleeping places and 10 x 26 runs with 16 feet of the runs being roofed. There is enough space to do 4 pens, but I'll probably leave one bay open so I can drive the truck through to drop off stuff under there still. I may split one pen and have a broody/breeding pen share space with the silkies.

It is never ending sweetie heart !

I have to go out under the cover of darkness and move birds tonight...................ugh................it is never ending !

JB not in a while, CGG been a couple weeks, Broody a couple days, T Hi this morning, jbear a few days, pettec a week or so. Sorry I have kind of lost touch wit ha lot of people lately.
Tamara I hope the injection works well for your DH. I had them before I had my back fused.

Did the injections work ?
